Denver Union Station

1. Union Station is Denver's iconic transportation hub and a vibrant social center, beautifully blending historic charm with modern amenities. Originally opened in 1881, this Beaux-Arts landmark underwent a massive renovation and reopened in 2014 as a bustling destination featuring trendy restaurants, boutique shops, and the luxurious Crawford Hotel.


You can explore the stunning architecture, relax with a coffee at one of the stylish cafes, or enjoy farm-to-table dining and craft cocktails. Union Station also serves as a key transit point, connecting travelers via Amtrak, RTD light rail, and buses, making it an essential stop for both locals and visitors in the Mile-High City.


Convergence Station

2. Meow Wolf, also known as Convergence Station, is a unique, immersive, and interactive art experience that goes beyond traditional storytelling. Meow Wolf is one of my favorite things to do in Denver, and you can purchase a QPASS to interact with the fantasy worlds inside Convergence Station. There are plenty of secret doors, fun easter eggs, and secrets to uncover, so plan to spend at least 2-3 hours exploring the stunning spaces.


At the Perplexiplex, Meow Wolf's venue, you can also also find a wide range of workshops and events, including game nights, 21+ evenings, live music, and yoga.


3. Red Rocks Amphitheatre is a world-renowned open-air concert venue located just outside of Denver, in Morrison, Colorado. Nestled among towering red sandstone formations, this natural geological wonder offers breathtaking views and an unparalleled acoustic experience. Opened in 1941, Red Rocks has hosted legendary performances by artists such as The Beatles, U2, and Stevie Nicks, cementing its status as a bucket-list destination for music lovers. Beyond concerts, the amphitheatre serves as a hub for fitness enthusiasts who enjoy yoga sessions and group workouts on its iconic steps. Visitors can also explore the surrounding Red Rocks Park, which features hiking trails, stunning vistas, and the Colorado Music Hall of Fame.


4. Denver Botanic Gardens offers a serene oasis in the heart of the city. Spread across 23 acres, the gardens include themed sections such as the Japanese Garden, Tropical Conservatory, and Water Garden, providing visitors with a tranquil escape and a chance to explore the beauty of nature.


5. Denver Zoo is a beloved attraction set within the lush confines of City Park. Home to over 4,000 animals representing 600 species, the zoo provides engaging exhibits like Predator Ridge, Tropical Discovery, and Primate Panorama. You can feel good during your visit because the zoo's commitment to conservation and animal care makes it a leader in wildlife preservation efforts.

7. Denver Museum of Nature & Science is a premier institution dedicated to exploring the natural world and our place within it. Featuring fascinating exhibits on dinosaurs, space exploration, human cultures, and Colorado's natural history, the museum offers hands-on activities and immersive experiences.


8. United States Mint in Denver offers a fascinating glimpse into the production of American currency. Free guided tours take visitors through the minting process, from the creation of dies to the striking of coins. The tour includes historical exhibits and a view of the production floor, providing a unique educational experience about the nation's coinage.


9. Clyfford Still Museum is dedicated to the works of one of the most influential abstract expressionist artists, Clyfford Still. The museum's collection includes nearly 3,000 pieces of Still's work, showcasing his evolution as an artist. The minimalist design of the museum itself complements the bold and dynamic artwork, offering visitors an immersive and contemplative art experience.


10. Elitch Gardens is a historic amusement park and water park offering fun for all ages. Located in downtown Denver, the park features thrilling roller coasters, family-friendly rides, and entertaining shows. During the summer, the water park provides a refreshing escape with slides, wave pools, and lazy rivers. Seasonal events, such as Fright Fest, add to the park's year-round appeal.


11. Molly Brown House Museum celebrates the life of Margaret "Molly" Brown, the famed Titanic survivor and social activist. The iconic Big Blue Bear sculpture peeking into the center's lobby has become a beloved symbol of the venue, welcoming visitors from around the world.


13. Colorado State Capitol is a striking example of Neoclassical architecture and serves as the seat of Colorado's government. Visitors can take guided tours to learn about the building's history, architecture, and the legislative process. The dome, gilded with gold leaf, offers panoramic views of Denver and the surrounding mountains. The capitol's interior features beautiful murals, stained glass, and a stunning rotunda.


14. International Church of Cannabis is a unique and colorful sanctuary located in a historic building in Denver. Visitors can experience the guided meditative light shows, known as BEYOND, which combine music, art, and light for a one-of-a-kind immersive experience. This is another one of my personal favorites and I reccomend checking out their website to sign up for this unique experience.


15. Daniels and Fisher Tower, a historic landmark in downtown Denver, was once the tallest building west of the Mississippi River. Built in 1910, visitors can admire the clock tower's design and, on special occasions, tour the interior for stunning views of the city from the observation deck. My favorite thing to do here, however, is to attend one of their late night comedy and cabaret shows at the Clocktower Cabaret.


16. Casa Bonita is a beloved Denver institution known for its unique (although expensive and unsavory) dining and entertainment experience. This Mexican restaurant features elaborate decor, cliff divers, puppet shows, and arcade games, creating a fun and whimsical atmosphere for families. y
